WAT MUNIVONGSA
Who We Are?
Munivongsa Khmer Krom Buddhist Cultural Center is a spiritual, cultural, and community-based organization dedicated to preserving and sharing Theravāda Buddhist teachings and the rich heritage of the Khmer Krom people. Founded with faith, unity, and compassion, Munivongsa serves as a place of peace, learning, and cultural continuity for both Khmer Krom families and the wider community.
Our center is open to people of all backgrounds who seek spiritual guidance, cultural understanding, and a supportive community grounded in Buddhist values of wisdom, morality, and mindfulness.
Our History & Founding
Munivongsa Khmer Krom Buddhist Cultural Center was founded on January 21, 2015, through the collective efforts of devoted monks, lay supporters, and community members. Recognizing the need for a spiritual home that nurtures both religious practice and cultural identity, the founders established Munivongsa as a center for worship, education, and community service.
Since its founding, Munivongsa has steadily grown, guided by generosity, volunteerism, and strong community support. What began as a humble gathering place has become a vital spiritual and cultural center for Khmer Krom Buddhists and friends across generations.

Our Vision
We envision Munivongsa as a lasting center of spiritual refuge, cultural preservation, and compassionate service—where individuals cultivate inner peace, wisdom, and social responsibility for the benefit of present and future generations.
Khmer Krom Heritage & Identity
Khmer Krom culture is deeply rooted in Buddhism, language, tradition, and community life. Munivongsa is committed to preserving this heritage by maintaining traditional ceremonies, chanting in Pali and Khmer, and passing down cultural knowledge to younger generations.
Through festivals, ancestral remembrance ceremonies, and cultural education, we honor the resilience and identity of the Khmer Krom people while promoting understanding and respect within the broader society.

Together, monks and lay supporters cultivate a spirit of harmony, mutual respect, and shared responsibility in serving the spiritual and cultural needs of the community.
